Asher

Welcome to my real-life Pinterest board for my future baby’s nursery. Seriously. This is one of the cutest, classiest nautical nursery I have ever seen! I loved how mature it is. Totally complimented the very dapper, handsome young man who resides in this nursery.

Little Asher came into this world in the beginning of August and I came to meet him when he was two weeks old. Just a tad out of the realm for newborn pictures, only because babies *tend* to sleep nap better at just a few days old vs. a few weeks. We did get him to sleep for most of it but any slight movement to try to change positions proved a tad challenging. But he just melted my heart and all I wanted to do was snuggle him! Baby fever is real, folks! Here is Asher!

Caswell

On a beautiful day at the end of October, the sweetest little angel named Caswell was born. I was asked to come to the hospital hours after she was born to take a few, literal newborn pictures and to document her older brother and sister meeting her for the first time. They were so excited! Instantly, they were both so in love with their baby sister. Everyone in the family has a name starting with a “C” which is why in some of the pictures, Caswell is holding a necklace with three “C” charms; one to depict each child! Enjoy the cuteness!

Katalina Rose

It seems like forever ago that Alexis told me that she was pregnant with baby #2 and finally, she’s here! The day I met her when she was three days old I instantly fell in love and she may have officially given me baby fever. Eeeek! From the few times I’ve hung out with the precious little princess, she is just SO awesome. I mean she basically slept through the entire session, never cried and didn’t need a diaper change! And when we took her to the beach on that absolutely perfectly, gorgeous evening, she stayed sound a sleep!

I’m so excited to be part of this family’s life and watch this little lady grow up.

Congratulations to the Lake family! Katalina couldn’t have been blessed with better parents and a big brother! 🙂

Nate

Here’s Nate’s newborn photos! He was such an awesome little dude throughout his whole session! He endured pictures in his nursery, outside on their screened patio, then to Wrightsville Beach, all without ever crying! He even slept through our time afterwards eating pizza at a local joint outside on a busy road! He only slept for the last bit of the evening but we made sure to get all the shots we wanted with him! Including an “after” shot from Atlanta’s maternity session on their privately owned dock!

Nathaniel’s Debut to the World

There’s a whole new fad of photography out there for capturing the births of newborn babies. I hadn’t thought much about it, especially since with offering that kind of photography, you really need to be available at any time! However, with my sister-in-law and her husband expecting their first child just after we moved down here, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try out this new gig and also document a very special time in these new parents’ lives!

Nate came to the world a happy and healthy 7lbs 12oz. My guess was 8lbs, 4 oz!

I wasn’t able to document the actual birth (a C-section isn’t very interesting anyways) but I was there starting with the grandparents seeing and holding their first grand baby for the first time. That Thursday was such an exciting and special day for our family. Welcome to the world, little Nate-boo! 🙂

Gabriel

This is my favorite newborn shoot thus far because not only was this little dude SO cute, but he actually stayed asleep for almost the whole time! He was so precious and little and awesome and perfect… there was a moment where I wanted to take him home with me! This shoot was also my favorite because the parents actually wanted to be in the pictures and I got some heart-warming shots of them with their new bundle of joy. They were open to all kinds of poses which was great because I was FINALLY able to get the “head on the hands” pose. Which actually isn’t a pose at all.

For those who don’t know, to get that kind of “pose” I actually have to edit two separate pictures and combine them into one. One picture is of the parents holding the baby’s head so I can have a picture of the arms. And the second picture is of them holding from below so I can have a head to use. It’s a little tricky and this was my very first time attempting this shot so I’m pretty proud of the way that it came out!
