The Johnson Family

I ventured to a wonderful little area of Wilmington for this family’s session that they wanted for their 9-month old baby girl. I knew off the bat that we were going to have a great session when the dad showed me the fall-country-harvest backdrop he set up in their backyard. I am a sucker for anything country and this set-up had me drooling! He had an old tractor positioned against an old wooden fence with bales of hay, mum and pumpkins set up for little Kinsley to sit on. It was perfect! After that we moved on to another wooded part of their neighborhood for a little “tea-time” picnic. Then we moved in to their exclusive neighborhood dock to finish the session at sunset. Even though the tide was extremely low the setting was still so gorgeous! Enjoy this cute little family!

Bently

Just over a year ago I shot the wedding of Erika and Brenton Irving, a young, Godly couple very much in love. Now, a year and four months into their marriage they have been blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby boy they named Bently. Aside from being ridiculously cute and perfect, he may be a record-breaking size for the hospital he was born in; 10lbs4oz and 23 inches!! He didn’t fit into any newborn clothes or any size 0 diapers. He was born a full-grown man!

I have never seen a newborn baby so alert and curious about life. When you speak to him, he looks you square in the eye as if he completely understands what you’re saying. I was so happy to get to the hospital to photograph his first days of life surrounded by his family and again a few days later when he was home. He is the sweetest boy and was such a joy to photograph as he never cried and happily let me do what I wanted with him, which included lots and lots of snuggle time! Congratulations to the new mommy and daddy! Bently has been born into such a wonderfully, loving family!

The Anderson Family

Presenting my latest Coast Guard family with the cutest blonde hair-blue eyed baby girl I’ve ever seen! I met the Andersons at the Wilmington River Walk where the CG cutter Diligence is moored up. Erin wanted family pictures done before her husband, who works on the Diligence, went underway for a few months.

Their daughter who is just over two years old is at that stage where she just wants to go-go-go, all on her own so it was a bit tricky getting pictures done here! We tried all kinds of ways to distract her to keep her happy in one spot. One of those times though it ended with her falling and splitting open a previous cut on her knee. This ultimately meant the end of our shoot but luckily we were nearing the end anyways. We weren’t able to take our time and get portraits in front of the CG cutter but we tried a few quick ones before packing up!

Through it all, her cute little grin makes all the pictures so great and wonderful!

Erika & Brenton’s Wedding : Wilmington, NC

My very first wedding of the 2013 season was booked by my husband’s cousin and I couldn’t be happier. It gave me a great excuse to put my new camera and skills to use and I was so happy to be able to offer my services to this awesome couple! Oh, and I should give a shout-out to my husband who was my “assistant” and snagged a few shots as well!

The wedding was May 18 and it felt like July. Hot, humid, ring of curls in my hair, sweat dripping down my back, but nonetheless the day was so BEAUTIFUL! The groom, obviously handsome coming from my husband’s family, and the bride. The bride was the most stunning young lady I’ve seen. And SO down the Earth! I thought I was a chill bride – no sir, she was even more laid back! Issues that would normally trigger bridezilla she just rolled it off her shoulders. She was more concerned with marrying her best friend than anything else and that’s perfect in my eyes! May God bless you guys and your lives together!
